A Humbling Collaboration
Location: Northcote Point, Auckland, North Shore.
Project description: Landscape design and construction
It is a humbling experience when you are employed to collaborate with another landscape architect on their own home. When Louise Noble from Noble Fox contacted our team to help install/construct and bring her sketches and ideas to reality we dove in. The Northcote Point site was not without its challenges; large protected trees, residential one zoning and historical boundary quirks made this project unique - on site discussions and sketches on the backs of timber off-cuts took precedent over conventional design, as our floating entry path hopped and skipped around protected tree roots.
The result is a beautiful, lush and contemporary garden design that nestles in with the existing native trees and wider surroundings. The raw sealed concrete front fence with cedar slatted entry gates adds a clean, contemporary and inviting entrance to this North Shore home.
A lush, sub-tropical planting scheme compliments the two large protected native trees, and feature Nikau palms frame the garden beds and floating pathway.
